“They Make it Easy:” How CBG Helped Trevor Fuentes Lose 17 Pounds in Eight Weeks
Two months ago, Trevor Fuentes found himself recovering from injuries and losing strength. As a result, he had let his diet “go out the window.”
He had heard about CBG for some time, and figured it was time to take the plunge.
“I had an interview with Justin [Romaire] about the CBG method, and I [thought], ‘This sounds way better than counting macros,’” said Fuentes, a police officer in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I had done the macro [method] before, and it could get overwhelming, especially when I was trying to hit every single target,” he explained.
Eight Weeks Later: Down 17 Pounds and With PRs Flowing
After just eight weeks of working with CBG Coach Kelly Butler, Fuentes has experienced amazing results.
He has lost 17 pounds and has been hitting PRs in the gym.
“Within just a few weeks, I was seeing drastic results. My strength started going up and I just feel way better,” Trevor said.
He adjusted to CBG’s Blueprint method pretty quickly despite a small learning curve at the start. In the first week of dealing with some cravings, CBG’s Blueprint method became a comfortable lifestyle.
“It’s simple. I mean, you still have to put in the work, but [Coach] Kelly has made everything easy. Once I began following it, I realized almost right away how streamlined it is and how much easier it makes my day. I don’t have to worry about what to eat and how much to eat, but at the same time there are still a lot of options, and it doesn’t have to be super precise or perfect all the time,” he said. He also commented that this significantly reduces his stress around nutrition.
A big surprise for Fuentes was how much he’s still able to eat, even when he was doing a cut at the start of the program.
“I was eating something every two-and-a-half hours. It was portioned, but at no point was I starving. I was always fuelled,” said Fuentes. He dedicates his workouts to a mix of functional fitness, powerlifting, as well as longer endurance events.
He added: “I feel like I’m always eating now, which is awesome because I love food, but I’m never starving.”
Next up for Fuentes is a 19-mile Memorial Fun, a tribute to fallen law enforcement officers. After that, he’s planning on doing an ultramarathon in November. Thanks to Coach Kelly, he is confident that he has the nutrition tools to fuel these challenges.
Best of all, Fuentes feels like he is more educated in his general nutrition to the point that when he finishes the 14-week program, he knows will easily be able to continue eating the way he is now well into the future.
“[Coach] Kelly does a great job explaining everything to me. Even grocery shopping and meal prep for the week seems easier now,” Fuentes said.
He added: “You still have to put in the work, but the way CBG does it keeps it so simple, so yeah, this is something I know I can stick with long term.”
